R. V. Pandit speaks about film finances. He says, "It is not an acknowledged fact that the films, the film industry is largely I won't say entirely but largely funded by the underworld so now the underworld has stopped or reduced their involvement in the film financing and you see there is a great drop in the number of films being produced and I am afraid that the government is at the root cause of this because, despite the fact that a film plays such a dominant role in India, in fact, the film should be credited with having helped the popularization of Hindi all over India especially in the South the government does not recognize the film as an industry so from where will they get the money the banks refuse to give them a loan so they have totally dependent on this largely on underworld
