The Haridwar Kumbh Mela can be said as the biggest festival for Hindus in India. The festival is celebrated every 12 years on the banks of the Ganges. This is a huge attraction and thousands come here as a pilgrimage. Free food is no less of an attraction among the devotees as they throng the food outlet for a morsel of Kheer or rice cooked in sweetened milk and cream with nuts.
