Free COVID-19 testing booth set up by the Government of Uttarakhand during the Kumbh Mela held in Haridwar earlier this year during the COVID-19 pandemic. Millions thronged to Haridwar, one of the four sites of the Kumbh Mela, for the festival amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. The date of this festival, held every 12 years, is determined based on Hindu astrology. Records of the Haridwar Kumbh Mela being held date back to the 1600's. An invitation to the Kumbh Mela which was the super spreader event of 2021, and precipitated the second wave across north India, killing hundreds of thousands of infesting millions of north Indians.
