The sound of a flowing river is the best, which is then enhanced by kids jumping in for a swim and splattering the serenity all over. A small kid jumps into the river to swim with the beautiful flow of the river. Then a priest sits down at the banks of the river chanting mantras and offering prayer to the River Sarayu. He then explains the meaning of the verses. Recently on November 6, 2018, a new world record was set in the holy city of Ayodhya on the eve of Diwali Tuesday with over three lakh ‘diyas’ or earthen lamps lit up simultaneously on the banks of the Saryu river. Sarayu is the name of the river Ghaghra when it flows past Ayodhya, the holy city in Uttar Pradesh.
