Devotees participating in the Ganesh Visarjan celebrations in India. Families and worshippers gather in large numbers as decorated idols of Lord Ganesha are carried in a procession toward the immersion site. Participants dressed in traditional and casual attire walk together across the open ground, while some devotees carry smaller idols and others accompany larger processional idols. At the immersion area, groups of devotees carefully carry a large Ganesha idol through the water to perform the traditional Visarjan ritual. The banks are lined with spectators offering prayers and watching the ceremony, while the temporary immersion enclosure and festive atmosphere reflect the community participation associated with Ganesh Chaturthi.
