This Pavo crsistatus tries his dance-display on another species - a pair of Lapwing plovers, before trying it on females of his own kind! Practice makes perfect? An immature Peacock without its train of tail feathers is filmed foraging with Red-wattled Lapwings. The colourful pheasant is trying to learn to work his charm on the females. Without the feather train looks like the female is unimpressed and runs away from the male. Peacocks attain sexual maturity at around 2 or 3 years and ill develop the showy tail feathers which they show off and strut in front of the harem of females to attract them.
