A lone Indian Grey Hornbill is spotted under the shade of trees on a hot summer day in New Delhi. A well developed casquet, so this must be an adult male since it is either absent or smaller in females and juveniles. Grey Hornbills are mostly arboreal and common even in the urban areas of Delhi. These are the chief dispersers of fig trees as they eat the fruits from these trees and seal their nests with the excreta containing seeds. They are cavity nesters and nests inside the hollow of tall trees.
