A lone Indian Grey Hornbill is spotted under the shade of trees on a hot summer day in New Delhi. It stretches its leg out and opens out its wing, for exercise! Grey Hornbills are mostly arboreal and common even in the urban areas of Delhi. These are the chief dispersers of fig trees as they eat the fruits from these trees and seal their nests with the excreta containing seeds. They are cavity nesters and nests inside the hollow of tall trees. Notice the white tipped wings and tail feathers of the hornbill as it stretches itself. A Spotted Owlet makes an appearance near the Grey Hornbill.
