Villagers from the neighbouring village of Maidenahalli near the Jayamangali Blackbuck Reserve herd goats in and around the periphery of the reserve. This particular one scares off a couple of blackbuck that fo leaping off in the distance. One of the few blackbuck reserves in Karnataka, the vegetation of open grasslands and shrublands making it favourable for the threatened Indian Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra). Vehicular movement near the grazing ground of the Blackbucks disturbs the animals there as they skip away to safety.
