Alka Yagnik, Indian playback singer speaks about her childhood and career. She says, "I spend my childhood in Kolkata and my mother is a classical singer I have seen my mother practicing music since when I was 4 years old. I used to listen to her singing. I did my schooling from Kolkata ad my father was an employee of Kolkata ort Trust. I have my interest n light music from the beginning because I used to listen to radio and Lata Mangeshkar's song. My mother realized that I have this talent for singing so she started my vocal training and I started singing in Calcutta Radio in kid's program. There is a very famous magician K. Lal, one of his friend lives in Kolkata who was my family friend also on an occasion of a party at a common friend's place I was asked to sing at that party so K. Lal
