Bengali singer Usha Uthup shows her dissatisfaction on changing the name from Calcutta to Kolkata

From Hoogly, Howrah, trams, Victoria Memorial to Indian Coffee House, Kolkata also known formally as Calcutta in the yesteryears is wrapped in nostalgia. Indian poet Sunil Gangopadhyay says "It is a part of our civil demands, we want to re-establish the right of Bengali language in this state because we feel that it was being sidelined. Hindi is taking place as a majority language which is unreal as Bengalis speak Bengali." Usha Uthup says "I don't want to say this but people are dying on the roads, is he bothered? Just by changing the name it doesn't mean that you love the place more and neither does it mean that if you remained with Calcutta that you would love it any less.
