Padmaavat flashback? Khalji's college and tomb in Qutab complex, Delhi

The Quadrangle enclosed by high-walls with rooms along the sides and entrance on the west was originally a college built by Alauddin Khalji to impart traditional instructions. His tomb was located in the center of the southern wing of the enclosure. The conception of a combined college and tomb appears here in India for the first time and inspired by Saljuqian tradition. The Alauddin Khalji's loyal Nobles constructed a Madrasa and Tomb in his honour which exists today at the rear end of the Qutb Complex in Delhi. The L-shaped Madrasa is situated southwest of the Mosque which also houses the Tomb of Ala-ud-din Khilji.
