Explore the remarkable architectural heritage of the Qutb Minar Complex in Mehrauli, Delhi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that preserves some of the earliest monuments of the Delhi Sultanate. This footage showcases the historic ruins of the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the iconic Iron Pillar of Delhi, and the Tomb and Madrasa of Alauddin Khalji. Built in 1193 CE by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque is recognized as the oldest surviving mosque in northern India. Its intricately carved sandstone pillars, many crafted from materials reused from earlier Hindu and Jain temples, display a fascinating blend of architectural traditions.
