Lion found dead in Amreli village

Two more lions were found dead in Bhavnagar and Amreli district on taking the death toll of the wild cats due to flash floods to eight. The carcass of a three-year-old lioness was found on the banks river Shetrunji near Pingli village of Talaja taluka of Bhavnagar district by a team of forest officials. A four-year-old lioness was found dead near Bavada village of Liliya taluka of Amreli on Saturday. The lioness was swept in flood water. Earlier, on Friday, carcasses of five Asiatic lions were found from villages of Amreli and Bhavnagar which were swept with flood water. With forest department expecting more such carcasses to be found, over 30 teams have been formed to fan out in the areas where lions were frequently sighted in Bhavnagar and Amreli.
