Development rate in pen industry has increased in last few months and after liberalization, India is also exporting pens but due to open import police, the pen industry is affected. "Director General, Foreign Trade has declared the pen industry open on 1st April 1999. One rupee pen can be imported and the government has pressure from WTO. China is our biggest competitor. We have approached the government on behalf of WIMO (Writing Instrument Manufacturer Organisation) to give us some time till 2003 so that we can expand our industry." "The dynamic environment today, it is very important that each company gives a new product, new ways of writing and new experiences to all the consumers.
