They beat it to death and eve in death, they keep hitting it with sticks, in order to derive some strange morbid vengeance on the poor beast which was panicked and attached a farmer, as it felt threatened and cornered. After killing this beautiful animal, these Indian villagers from Hapur in Uttar Pradesh drag its body through the fields, showing utmost disrespect to a dead animal and triumphantly tom-tom-ing their 'achievement'.
