A human dead body being cremated along the Yamuna river. The remains of the body along with the ashes are then submerged leading to air as well as water pollution. In India only men are allowed to observe the cremantation of their loved ones. Cremation causes adverse impact on environment and disposal of ashes in the river leads to pollution. Around 50 to 60 million trees are burned in year during the cremations leading to sacrifice of forest cover and obnoxious gases emanated from the burning leads to air pollution. The high level of water pollution comes from ashes and remains of a body only adds to the filth and pollution in the river.
