Even as the judicial enquiry ordered by the Prime Minister Mr Deve Gowda, begins its probe into the disaster, experts are looking at various theories that could have caused the tragedy. An airport official says "The radar which we have today in Delhi is a primary radar and its a fairly old one. Probably installed somewhere in the 70s, I believe 1973 or so, roughly about as I am not aware of the exact date and this being very old equipment, the radar echo is not up to the mark. Secondly, being primary equipment only we do not get any information regarding the heights of the aircraft we only get the direction and distance from the radar."
