A large cotton sheet is spread before he food preparation work begins, and a little prayer is done. Masses of LPG gas cylinders sit inside a large dekchi, as one approached the langar kitchen at Guruwara Sisganj Saheb in New Delhi. Aata is gundoed into masses of chapati or roti and a large gaggle of women sit on the gurudwara's kitchen langar floor and peel potatoes. Women belo chapatis manually and pile up the completed rotis. Sikh and non Sikh devotees visit te langar and volunteer for seva or service to clean the dishes and wash them, in preparation for the free food langar. Everyone then sits on the ground and consumes the feast.
