We can see an incredible sight on an Indian highway as a massive elephant travels alongside local sadhus and caretakers. Walking calmly on the unpaved shoulder of a busy semi-urban road, this majestic Indian elephant carries a heavy load of green fodder, firewood, and a rider on its back. Leading the way are two attendants, including a sadhu dressed in traditional saffron-orange robes carrying a walking staff. This video captures a unique look at the traditional relationship between humans and elephants in rural India, existing right alongside modern highway traffic, commercial trucks, and local shops.
