One of the holiest destinations for the Hindus, the Triveni Sangam is perhaps the most important place to visit in Allahabad. A confluence of three rivers the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati (a mythical river which is supposed to have dried up thousands of year ago), the Triveni Sangam holds a very high position when it comes to India spirituality. All the three rivers are considered immensely holy in India and it is but obvious that their meeting point is one of pious energy. To believe mythology and popular faith, a dip or bath at the Sangam helps one wash away all their sins that have collected over the lifetime.
