The coastal plains form a part of our physical divisions. They are flat areas of land located near the sea or ocean. The coastline of India is divided into the Western Coastal Plains and the Eastern Coastal Plains. The Western Coastal Plains are situated between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. They extend from Gujarat to Kerala. The Malabar Coast, the Gujarat Coast, and the Konkan Coast are the three divisions of the Western Coastal Plains. The Malabar Coast attracts many tourists because of the lagoons located here. A lagoon is a saltwater lake separated from the sea by sand or rocks.
