An expansive view of the grounds of the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India, showing the vast temporary settlement after the massive crowds have dispersed. The scene reveals the immense infrastructure built around the sacred Triveni Sangam, where the Ganges River and Yamuna River meet. Multiple pontoon bridges constructed from floating metal drums stretch across the wide, shallow river, allowing vehicles and pilgrims to move between different sectors of the festival grounds. Along the sandy floodplain, a large grid of tents and temporary structures forms the iconic “tent city” created to accommodate millions of visitors during the Kumbh Mela. With the crowds gone, the scale of the planning becomes more visible—temporary roads, utility poles, and organized camp zones extend across the river
