India celebrates World Tourism Day on 20th September 2000. The tourism ministry has decided to include information technology to increase tourism in India. This initiative has been taken by the Pramod Mahajan, Minister for Information Technology by launching the homepage of Tourism of India website. India earns 15 crore rupees annually and with the expansion of information technology in India, there is a hope of increase in tourism in India. Pramod Mahajan, Minister for Information Technology speaks about the use of information technology in tourism. He says, " Technology is moving and I think these kinds of things are made all over the country in the monuments it will make really very easy for people to understand and visit such kinds of places."
