Meerut city (not anymore a town!) is surrounded by unorganized sector industries and some organized industry too, including sugar mills, paper recycling units, garbage recycling, cricket bat making and a lot more. Labour comes from across the city and functions out of this city which also has a bypass highway that heads north to Dehradun. See the old city with fairly spaced apart older residential buildings, moderate traffic and a bit of an old India feel to it.
