Tanuja Chandra, director of film 'Sur' speaks about the film. She says, "We named the film as 'Sur' because this is the story about music. Lucky Ali is a music teacher in the film but the actual meaning of 'Sur' is in terms of emotions. A teacher who started to compete with his own student and slowly he becomes the rival of his own student. The story is about his journey and he actually realizes that he went away from his goal. I don't know how I got the idea of this film but basically from the fact that the tradition of teacher and student in our country has been written so many times and featured so many times but practically in real life your teacher or senior at some point of time starts to compete with you."
