Now is the harvesting season in the valley of Ziro and in Tajang village, the women are seen out in the fields and picking out the rice from the paddy crops. The Ziro valley which is known for its massive yield, is unique in a lot of ways. The tradition of paddy cum pisciculture is very unique to the Ziro Valley. The Apatani, or Tanii, are a tribal group of people living in the Ziro valley in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. However more Apatanis live outside this valley, making the total population approximately 60,000 all over the state.
