The paddy fields of Ziro are very distinct and significant of the valley and its people. The massive yield in the rich valley is known worldwide. But the thing that makes a vast difference is the Paddy cum pisciculture that is practised here in the Ziro valley by the Apatanis. A typical early morning scenario with typical birds of the area in Ziro is seen here. The Apatani, or Tanii, are a tribal group of people living in the Ziro valley in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. However more Apatanis live outside this valley, making the total population approximately 60,000 all over the state.
