the Whipcord Cobra Lily (Arisaema tortuosum), a distinctive plant species native to the Himalayas, southern India, and parts of China. The Spathe: The large, green, hooded structure shown is the spathe, which resembles a cobra's hood. The Spadix: Rising from the "mouth" of the flower is a long, whip-like tail called the spadix. This "tongue" can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) long and typically points skywards. Botanical Classification: It belongs to the Araceae (Arum) family.Common Names and Facts:Vernacular Names: It is known as Bagh Jandhra in Hindi, Sardacha-jad in Marathi, and Sarpako Makai in Nepali.
