Kanwar Yatris walking on the Meerut–Haridwar highway, moving steadily under a bridge as part of the sacred Kanwar Yatra. The scene reflects discipline, endurance, and deep devotion as devotees travel on foot toward Haridwar during the holy month of Shravan. During the Kanwar Yatra, Kanwar Yatris carry Kanwars—bamboo frames balanced on the shoulders—holding pots filled with holy Ganga Jal collected from the Ganga River. Along with the Kanwar, many devotees also carry trishuls, saffron flags, rudraksha malas, bells, and wear saffron or white clothing symbolising purity and faith. Some walk barefoot, observing strict vows and chanting “Bol Bam” throughout the journey.
