The central motion brought by the BJP in the Parliament asking for the recall of Uttar Pradesh governor Mr. Romesh Bhandari has brought into sharp focus the differences in the Congress party. A section of the party believes that the governor should be held down responsible for the alleged breakdown of law and order in the state and therefore should be replaced. Arguing that the State of the Affairs has been brought about by the United Front, Congress leaders are willing to defeat the government on the floor of the house when the central motion comes in for voting. In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress Pradesh President Mr. Jitendra Prasada leads the Congress section to the post of Romesh Bhandari's continuing as the governor of the state.
