A concert by Indian music maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori, renowned Santoor player, music composer and music conductor. This composition “Devotional Bliss” sends the message of the Shaivaite and Sufi thought which is submission to the ultimate in love. The composition presents a joyful spirit of Kashmiri culture highlighting the concept of Kashmiriyat and variegated moods of Kashmir. The composition starts with a typical opening recitation style of Kashmiri Sufiana Muquam followed by a Lal Wakh, the recitation of Laleshwari, one of the greatest Saint Poetesses of Kashmir where she says: With a rope of loose-spun thread am I towing my boat upon the sea, Would that God heard my prayer and bring me safe across, Like water in cups of unbaked clay, I run to waste, Would God I were to reach my home.
