In a serene forested region near Chopta, a small ancient stone shrine is nestled among dense greenery, reflecting the spiritual presence often found along Himalayan trekking paths. Surrounding the shrine is a rich ecosystem filled with diverse flora and fauna. An Emerald Damselfly (Lestes sponsa) rests delicately among the vegetation, while a daddy longleg and a two-tailed spider move across damp rocks. Bright insects like the Red Pumpkin Beetle and butterflies such as the Purple Sapphire (Heliophorus epicles) and Chocolate Pansy (Junonia iphita) add colour to the scene. The forest floor also features lush plants like Selaginella and the heart-shaped leaves of taro (Colocasia esculenta). The moist, green environment highlights biodiversity thriving in the Himalayan forest.
