Koose Munisamy Veerappan or commonly known as Veerappan, famous with the media and forest department officials for his poaching and sandalwood smuggling activities till 2004. The dacoit or bandit who operated in the jungles and villages of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, involved in the kidnapping and causing harm to politicians, policemen and people suspected to be associated with them. Watch the archival footage of Veerappan in his lair interaction with journalists. He was videotaped by journalists that he met in the jungles. The Kannada filmmaker Rajkumar is seen here at Veerappan's lair as filmed by a journalist. Rajkumar was held hostage by Veerappan for 108 days.
