Dudhwa National Park is a National Park and major part of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve located in the Terai of Uttar Pradesh state, India. It covers an area of 680 km2, with a buffer zone of almost 190 km2. The area was established in 1958 as a wildlife sanctuary for Swamp Deer. Thanks to the efforts of 'Billy' Arjan Singh the area was notified as a national park in January 1977. In 1988, the park was declared as a tiger reserve, and forms the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve together with the Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary. Elevation ranges from about 150 metres (490 ft) to 183 metres (600 ft). The international border with Nepal forms the northern boundary, and the River Suheli the southern boundary.
