Lakshman Jhula is an iron suspension bridge situated in Rishikesh in Indian state of Uttarakhand . It is constructed over river Ganges to cross the river and is a landmark of Rishikesh. It is said that Lakshman crossed Ganges on jute ropes between the place where this bridge is built. Lakshman Jhula was built in 1939. There are spectacular views from the bridge. Source - Wikipedia Gangotri Gaumukh, source of river Ganga and abode of goddess Ganga, is one of the four of the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit in India. The river is called Bhagirathi at the source and gets the name Ganga from Devprayag onwards where it is joined by the Alaknanda.
