Verghese Kurien speaks about the export of dairy products from India to western countries. He says, " "We have under operation flood made India self-sufficient in milk. It may surprise you to know we have exported to a country called the United States milk, cheese, gulab jamun and it's a raring hit I have exported dairy products to New Zealand because in each of these countries there are Asians, Indians for some reasons they think Amul cheese is better than the New Zealand cheese they are used to this flavor so our export this year would be about 11 crores rupees of dairy products.
