While on our way back from Chittagong to Dhaka we crossed several small water bodies but the only major water body we witnessed was the Meghna bridge. After crossing the bridge a section of industrial plants start on both side majorly cement plants. Official name of Meghna Bridge is Japan Bangladesh Friendship Bridge 1. It carries Motor vehicles and pedestrians. It is situated over the Meghna River. This bridge was designed by Cantilever bridge. The total length of the bridge is 900 meters (2,952 ft 9 inches), in width 9.2 meters (30 ft 2 inches). The longest span is 87 meters (285 ft 5 inches). It was opened for public in February 1, 1991.
