A range of traffic and vehicular types crosses the Shah Amanat Bridge to get across the Kanaphuli river. Meanwjile, some vehicles fill CNG at a fuelling station on side of the bridge. The bridge has a winding road approach and much vegetation on one side. Bangladeshi Muslim women approach the highway to cross it, getting off a three wheeler auto rickshaw, to one side of the bridge. Shah Amanat Bridge, the third constructed across the Karnaphuli River in Bangladesh, is the first major extradosed bridge in the country. It is located along country's busiest national highway N1.
