"I am Shailendra Tripathi. I was associated with Pandit Kamlapati Tripathi political committee and Congress committee. As Uttar Pradesh does not have Congress as a ruling party I am serving myself to goddess Ganga. In 1997, we have made a committee when there was no one to do Ganga arti and no committee was in action. In 1997 we started doing Ganga arti on other side however when it was flooded we use to go that side and it was restricted to enter after 5pm. Once respected DGP visited this place and said that we were doing a good work, he also gave us an appreciation letter and told us to perform Ganga arti on Rajendra Prasad Ghat. Considering our ancient traditions we started performing Ganga arti on this ghat daily at 6:30pm. We earn from religious goods which we sell to devotees...." Th
