The general assumption made for rock music or heavy metal is that it generally pushes the youth towards and violence and aggressiveness but in Mumbai or Bombay rock music is a way to celebrate the independence or freedom of India. According to a youth taking part in the festival, " He says that it is not in our blood. We might be playing stuff which is made abroad with a lot of attitude and violence but it's different out here. It's about the attitude actually" Since last 13 years on 14th August, the Independence rock festival has been organised.
