Kauwa ka ghonsla: The sounds of traffic and ambulances from Corona cases fail to deter these eager crows! They continue to sit on their blue smartly speckled eggs. These House Crows don't get bothered at all, and sit on unflappingly. The male crow comes and feeds and tends to the incubating female kauva. Why does one crow sit on top of the other one? Unusual behaviour indeed... Chicks struggle for their parents' attention, squawking and opening their beaks even as their eyes are closed and they are essentially blind to the world. A Kauwa or Corvus splendens - the House Crow of India. Blue eggs speckled with brown sit in the nest alongside newly-hatched chicks. The parents tear apart a morsel of meat to feed to the new borns. Remarkable that they can digest meat this soon into their lives..
