Suru River flowing through Karkitchoo village in the Kargil district of Ladakh, India, during the annual apricot blossom season. Fed by meltwater from the Panzella (Pensi La) Glacier in the Zanskar region, the river displays its characteristic aquamarine colour as it winds through the rugged Trans-Himalayan landscape. The valley is lined with apricot orchards in full bloom, with white and soft pink blossoms contrasting against the barren brown mountains of Ladakh. Karkitchoo, located about 7 km north of Kargil, is part of the region's well-known apricot belt, where thousands of flowering trees transform the high-altitude cold desert each spring.
