An Oriental Garden Lizard (Calotes versicolor), also known as the Changeable Lizard, resting on a thick green plant stem. The reptile remains motionless while firmly gripping the smooth branch with its claws. Its light brownish-olive body, marked with dark irregular bands and speckles, blends closely with the surrounding vegetation, providing effective camouflage. The close-up view highlights the lizard's angular head, distinct ear opening, textured scales, and the small crest-like ridge along the back of its neck. Remaining alert, it occasionally scans its surroundings while maintaining its perch, demonstrating the cryptic behaviour typical of this widespread species.
