A pair of Tufted Gray Langurs (Semnopithecus priam), also known as Madras Langurs, resting together in the forests of southern India. These slender primates are recognized by their pale gray bodies, contrasting black faces, dark ears, and the distinctive tuft or crest of fur on top of the head that differentiates them from other gray langur species. The footage appears to be from the forested landscapes of regions such as Valparai or Chinnar, both known for rich biodiversity and diverse primate populations in the Western Ghats. Tufted Gray Langurs are highly social leaf-eating monkeys that inhabit dry deciduous forests, scrublands, riverine forests, and hilly terrain across southern India. The video documents the calm behavior and natural habitat of one of India’s native langur species.
