Citizens in the then hilly parts of erstwhile Uttar Pradesh in northern India take to the streets to protest the reservation policy of the ruling Mulayam Singh Government. The clip also features interviews by political analysts and spokesperson on the political standings and policies of major political parties. The 1990s saw a number of incidents in Uttar Pradesh for the creation of a different state of Uttarakhand. This put political parties in a fix due to other statehood activism in other states.
