Gardeners at our Wilderness Orchard are filmed cleaning and harvesting the Turmeric section of the kitchen garden. The dry leaves and stem, grass are cleared before digging for the turmeric. The rhizomes are dug up and cleaned. This will be made into turmeric powder or Haldi, a popular spice in Indian cooking.
