The New Yamuna Bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge of India, located in Allahabad. The bridge was constructed by the end of 2004 with the aim of minimizing the traffic over the Old Naini Bridge. The bridge runs North-South across the Yamuna river connecting the city of Allahabad to its neighborhood of Naini. The construction was consulted by COWI A/S, a Danish consulting company. Naini (also known as Naini Industrial Area) is a satellite neighborhood and a twin city of Allahabad, India. By 1950s Naini was established as the chief industrial area of the city. Naini is located on the banks of River Yamuna, opposite Allahabad City. To the north, across the Ganges, is Jhunsi, which is a part of Allahabad itself.
