An inquisitive Indian Grey Mongoose steps out of its burrow and scouts its surroundings at our Wilderness Orchard in Delhi. Mongoose are illegally traded for their fur which is used in paintbrushes and as a pet. Mongooses in India are protected under Schedule II (Part II) of the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, which prohibits all trade of animals listed in it.
