Is this really the solution to our air quality woes? If we can't clean up our city air, do we really need to install tens of thousands of air purifiers and filters on our roads? Will that really make any difference at all when the air is thick with SPM and smoke from a million farm fires? Who will service and clean the machines and their filters? Will these machines even be effective ten feet away, given the heavy traffic load? Will one machine be able to counter the emissions from a single diesel vehicle? All good questions, perhaps... And does the solution to India's troubles lie in road-side air purifiers and giant statues or better policy, farm management and rules?
